This summer, Real Sociedad are still looking for a left-back, and their search has led them to Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League.
This summer, La Real has been linked to a variety of full backs, including Renan Lodi, who was their top choice, Alejandro Grimaldo, Sergio Gomez, Juan Bernat, and others.
Sergio Reguilon, a defender for Tottenham, is now their #1 target. Since they are unable to pay his wage in full, Tottenham would have to chip in a portion, and a loan with a buy option for the following summer appears to be the most likely scenario.
If the sale of that player falls through, La Real will focus on Real Betis left-back Juan Miranda. Diego Rico will depart Donostia-San Sebastian as soon as a successor is found, with Getafe presumably being his final destination.
Reguilon had a poor season while on loan at Atletico Madrid last year, making just 11 appearances for a total of 317 minutes. Reguilon did, however, receive very little playing time, and there is a higher chance for him to succeed if given confidence and a run of games.

‘IT’S DIFFERENT’: DESTINY UDOGIE IMPRESSED BY TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR MIDFIELDER
Destiny Udogie has shared that he has been impressed by the ‘style’ of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma and how it is ‘different’.
During Tottenham’s pre-season tour of 2023, it could be argued that Yves Bissouma is the man that has been lauded by his teammates the most, that’s on and off the field of play.
Summer signing James Maddison recently claimed that the former Brighton star has surprised him the most in training with his ‘very demanding’ style, with Destiny Udogie now complimenting him on his dress sense, as he told Tottenham’s Diary Room.
The 26-year-old was an Antonio Conte signing after his impressive performances in the colours of Brighton under then-manager, Graham Potter.
But that didn’t translate at Hotspur Way, as he struggled to cement his place in the XI, before his season ended in a pretty poor fashion.
But that was under the stewardship of Conte, with Ange Postecoglou now in the dugout and he seems to have provided Bissouma with a new lease of life to the Mali star.
“I think Bissouma has a good style,” said Udogie. “I like it. He has a good style. I like the way he dresses. It’s different.”
Bissouma can thrive under Postecoglu
There are suggestions that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will head for the exit door this summer, so it increases Bissouma’s chances of starting the first game of the 23/24 season.
Spurs will travel across London to take on Thomas Frank’s Brentford, with every chance that Bissouma starts in midfield, with James Maddison further forward and one other.
When Rodrigo Bentancur returns from injury, you would imagine the starting middle three will be Maddison-Bissouma-Bentancur.
